Staining a wood floor is an excellent way to preserve its natural beauty and character. How often it should be stained can depend on a number of factors, including wear and tear from foot traffic, the type of that’s in your home, and the color of the stain you choose. It can all make a difference. Generally speaking, however, we recommend staining your wood floors every three to five years. Over-staining can cause the floors to buckle, but neglecting to stain them will leave them vulnerable to damage from scratches and spills.
